What do you want to get out of this internship?
I really want to get some hands on experience in as many areas as possible. I’m coming into the industry with absolutely 0 hands on experience and I really have no idea what I’ll like and what I’ll be good at. I’m also one of those people that likes to be trained in all departments(if possible) so I can understand what someone else’s process is and how my actions or how I do things affects them and their tasks they need to complete. I may not want to do their job, but I’ll have a better understanding of what they have to go through.
What do you love to do? Hobbies? Activities?
I love doing anything outdoors (except running), kayaking, camping, hiking. I also LOVE to travel! I love seeing new places and learning about that city and what’s unique about it. I also do a lot of crafts. I crochet, make dream catchers, macramé. When I get bored and want to learn or create something new I go on Pinterest. I also love to read, once I pick up a book I won’t put it down until I finish it. I read the entire Hunger Game series in less than a week.
If you could only eat one thing for the rest of your life what would it be?
Honestly, as long as I could eat Chick-fil-a for the rest of my life I’d be happy. I have a serious Chick-fil-a problem…
Favorite musicians, artists, genres, equipment, shows you’ve been to...tell us anything you love about music.
My favorite artists and bands are Halsey, Pink Floyd, Fleetwood Mac, Greta Van Fleet, Biggie, Big Sean, Kendrick Lamar, Demi Lovato, Alison Wonderland, Diplo, Jimi Hendrix, CCR, Hozier. There are so many more, but those are a few I can think of right now.
Why did you choose to intern here?
I met Erin and attended a few of her panels at the Music Biz Conference the past 2 years and read a few of the intern blogs and knew this was the internship I was looking for. I was scared to go to bigger companies because I didn’t want to get stuck always getting coffee and filing things. I don’t mind doing this at all, but I wanted to make sure I could actually experience different things to help me figure out what jobs I like and I’m good at and which ones I end up not liking so much. With all my research I knew Olivia Management would give me that opportunity to try different things.
What is your favorite part about Nashville?
I’m still pretty new here, but I love the fact that I can drive 20 minutes and be in the heart of the city and have tons of things to do and then drive 20 minutes and still have the country life I was missing in Maryland. I’m from Virginia so going from the country to the city was difficult for me to adapt too, but then I loved driving a short distance and actually had things I could do.
What do you want to be when you grow up?
I know I definitely want to own my own business, I just haven’t quite nailed down exactly what I want to focus on. I know I’d be a great business owner and I’ve been told my management style is great. I’ve thought about owning a few different businesses but I’m still waiting for the right one to pop in my head to really pursue.
