Hello, friends! Fall is officially here and that means settling in and getting cozy (even though Nashville is 95 degrees). And let me tell you, I am getting cozy as an intern here at Olivia Management. My first month here has been filled with Americanafest, live music, lots of coffee, and puppy cuddles! Here are just a few things I have learned in the past week.
IT’S OKAY TO ASK FOR HELP!
I feel like this is something you hear from a young age: ask for help when you need it. But sometimes that can be tough! It’s not always easy asking your bosses and co-workers for help, but we’re not all Wonder Woman all the time. Whether it’s a processes question, bouncing ideas off one another, or simply asking what a word means. I feel totally empowered asking meaningful questions and ultimately growing my music biz knowledge.
IF YOU CAN DREAM IT, YOU CAN DO IT! (seriously.)
I had SUCH a cool and fun experience last Thursday with one of our artists, Ruthie Collins (her music makes me sway-dance around my kitchen in my clogs. If you haven’t listened, what are you doing with your life?). Ruthie is going on tour soon with the upcoming release of her new record, so we decided to have a little vision board party. It was incredibly inspiring to see her dreams and aspirations for her upcoming tour, and to see how much manager Erin Anderson cares about her artists. It was a great reminder of why we do what we do, helping great people get great music out there!
TEAMWORK MAKES THE DREAM WORK.
I have the privilege of working with some pretty amazing people. Day in and day out, everyone works together to create an awesome flow. I have loved learning new systems and new ways to communicate. Seeing your team work hard and killin’ it every day makes you want to do the same!
So thats all I have for now my dear friends. But I can’t wait to share more in the next few months!
