Matthew, as you may know, nearly always has a calm, cool, and inviting demeanor. He's a great hang, he's a genuine person, and he makes music that tugs at your heart strings. But despite always giving off an air of relaxation, in reality, he's a very busy guy these days. We marvel at how he juggles being a good dad to three daughters, writing for Razor & Tie, working on a new album and practicing for upcoming shows. Thankfully, MPJ is good at all of those things, which makes our job that much better.
COMING UP: CITY WINERY NASHVILLE - TUESDAY, JUNE 20TH
We're super excited about Matthew's show with Songs Against Slavery on Tuesday night, June 20th benefiting Thistle Farms. Not only do we love both organizations involved in the event, but this is also the first time we'll get to see Matthew headline a show in Nashville since we've had the pleasure of joining his team. Check out all the info and purchase tickets by clicking here.
RECENT EVENTS: 615 DAY WITH LIGHTNING 100
Last week, one of our favorite holidays took place! A good old Nashville favorite, that is. 615 Day is celebrated in Nashville, annually, on June 15th the way we celebrate best - with live music. This year, Lightning 100 booked Matthew to play a set on the Pavilion East stage that was broadcasted live on 100.1 FM. A great time was had by all, and MPJ was kind enough to enlighten everyone about how they could see his full set in Nashville soon (ahem...see above...).
ONGOING: MATTHEW'S NEW ALBUM
If you haven't seen/heard already, we've been pretty stoked about the fact that Matthew's working on new music. He has some pretty cool merch and interactive content that you can get in on by purchasing any item from his Pledge Campaign. An easy start would be purchasing the All Access Pass, which will get you a download of the new album when it's released, as well as access to all the frequently posted, exclusive updates. For example, if you're a pledger, you can see MPJ's full mini doc about his visit to Tehuacana, TX, before anyone else. What's interesting about Tehuacana, TX? I have no clue, but if he was able to make a documentary about it, then I have no doubt there are some juicy secrets that lie secretly in the dusty tracks of those Tehaucana deserts...(edit: do not quote me on the assumption that there actually are secrets, dusty roads, or deserts...I'm not super familiar with Texas). All that to say (my boss is probably reading this and deleting every single bizarre word (lots of coffee today)) - Matthew's got some awesome music in the works here and it would behoove you to check it out.
